umm fuk u guys, i has lyrics

Soul Coughing - Screenwriter's Blues

Exits to freeways
twisted like knots on
fingers.
Jewels cleaving
skin between
breasts.

Your Cadillac breathes
four hundred horses
over blue lines.
You are going
to Reseda
to make love
to a model
from Ohio
whose real name
you don't
know.

You spin
like the Cadillac was
overturning down a cliff
on television.
And the radio is on
and the radioman is speaking
and the radioman says
women were a curse.
So men built Paramount
studios.
And men built Columbia
studios.
And men built
Los Angeles.

It is 5 am
and you are listening
to Los Angeles.

And the radioman says
it is a beautiful night out there!
And the radioman says
Rock and Roll lives!
And the radioman says
it is a beautiful night out there
in Los Angeles.
You live
in Los Angeles
and you are going to
Reseda; we are all
in some way or
another going to
Reseda someday
to die.
And the radioman
laughs because
the radioman fucks
a model too.

Gone savage
for teenagers with
automatic weapons and
boundless love.
Gone savage for
teenagers who are
aesthetically pleasing,
in other words,
fly.
Los Angeles beckons
the teenagers
to come to her
on buses;
Los Angeles loves
love.

It is 5 am
and you are listening
to Los Angeles.

I am going to
Los Angeles
to build a screenplay about
lovers who murder each other.
I am going to
Los Angeles
to see my own name on a
screen, five feet
long and luminous.
As the radioman says
it is 5AM
and the sun has charred
the other side of
the world and come
back to us
and painted the smoke
over our heads
an imperial violet.

It is 5 am
and you are listening
to Los Angeles.

You are listening...
You are listening...
You are listening...
You are listening...

...to Los Angeles.

I liked them for about five seconds... Though I wouldn't really call them emo I guess. I just don't like them.

Really though, there are music sites with emo sections... you can pretty much find all the 'new emo' you could imagine.

Oh wait I just remembered another one!

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...endID=17635077

This is the type of band that would never admit they were emo... they even label themselves "experimental", and "punk".

Progenitors include Husker Du (arguably the major driving force behind emotional hardcore), Rites of Spring, Embrace, Dag Nasty and Fugazi to an extent. Notables include Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, Braid, Christie Front Drive, Cursive, Texas is the Reason, Four Minute Mile-era Get Up Kids, earlier The Promise Ring, Lifetime, Jawbreaker, Angel Hair, Heroin, Jimmy Eat World on their first two albums, and so many more. Cursive, Saves the Day, and The Appleseed Cast are a few modern bands still influenced by early emo.

The u's in Husker Du have umlauts, but the board won't let me post the special characters I guess.

Duncan Hills Dethjingle. I just found it pretty funny how they were taking coffee to a whole new level. The song doesn't sound too bad.

Do you folks like coffee?
Real coffee?
From the hills, of Columbia.
The Duncan Hills are real.
From a dozen depths.
A cup of bloody death.
You're dying for a cup.
One amount of thread.
Eating up the earth.
French mellow roast.
You're dying for a cup.
Filling the world with ultimate flavor.
You're gonna' get some, NOW!
And scream, for your cream.
DUNCAN
HILLS

Crawl across towards your window
I'm calling softly from the street
Always a lonely widow
Half awake and sleeping on my feet
I'm of age but have no children
No quarter phone booth calls to home
Just late-night television
Inside my bedroom all alone

There is no use in waiting
Offer up your steps so I can climb
Show me all your figure paintings
Etched in the middle of the night
Let me stretch upon your carpet
Let me hear the rain tap on your street
Knowing I am safe on the inside
Blankets wrapped and drifting off to sleep

Got a new favourite now :P

LINKIN PARK LYRICS

"Papercut"

Why does it feel like night today?
Something in here's not right today.
Why am I so uptight today?
Paranoia's all I got left
I don't know what stressed me first
Or how the pressure was fed
But I know just what it feels like
To have a voice in the back of my head
Like a face that I hold inside
A face that awakes when I close my eyes
A face watches every time I lie
A face that laughs every time I fall
(And watches everything)

So I know that when it's time to sink or swim
That the face inside is hearing me
Right beneath my skin

It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin

I know I've got a face in me
Points out all my mistakes to me
You've got a face on the inside too and
Your paranoia's probably worse
I don't know what set me off first
But I know what I can't stand
Everybody acts like the fact of the matter is
I can't add up to what you can but

Everybody has a face that they hold inside
A face that awakes when I close my eyes
A face watches every time they lie
A face that laughs every time they fall
(And watches everything)

So you know that when it's time to sink or swim
That the face inside is watching you too
Right inside your skin

[x2]
It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin

The face inside is right beneath your skin [x3]

The sun goes down
I feel the light betray me
The sun goes down
I feel the light betray me

The sun
I feel the light betray me
The sun
I feel the light betray me

It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin

It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin

Dude, stop. LP lyrics are pretty much the same self-loathing bullshit from song to song. No need to post more than one when they're all essentially the same.

I think there is a difference between the actual genre emo and what people call emo. I mean, I would think of Fall Out Boy as being emo, since all they do is whine and wear tight pants, and I would also think of Simple Plan as being emo because all they do is bitch and moan. However, I doubt that either of these would actually fall under the genre of emo. Its because emo has come to mean whiny bitch in popular culture, which changes what the common public views it as.

There's a huge difference. HUGE. You've apparently missed all the convoluted discussions about it in this section.

The public view is not completely separated from the original definition (emotion, however trivialized, is still emotion), but the meaning of the word has become so bastardized from its mid-80's melodic hardcore roots as to be totally unrecognizable.

I've always thought that what people call 'emo' is just 'scene'. So an 'emo' kid, is just a 'scene' kid.

No, cuz rap was the "scene" before emo. And still is largely.
