Heavy Rain demo on PSN

The demo is currently available on the PAL Playstation Store, so if you're unsure about the title now is your chance to check it out. It's a 1754MB download, and contains two chapters from the game. The demo may be available on the U.S. Playstation Store later, but I'm not sure.

As far as the game goes, the graphics are pretty great in the first chapter, but the environments are very small and closed in, so comparing it to a title like Uncharted isn't exactly fair. The second chapter also looks good, but the character you play as isn't as detailed as the character in the first chapter. It's almost as if the second chapter of the game is from an earlier point in the game's development.

Overall I was pretty disappointed with the demo as the game play is extremely tedious. Every action in the game uses QTEs, and some of them require you to press 2 or more buttons at the same time, which requires you to hold the controller in an unusual way. Some of these actions really should have been done automatically by the game itself, not the player. Shaking an inhaler to treat your asthma isn't exactly revolutionary in my opinion. It's a real shame too, as the story and theme are quite unique for a game.

Still, it's worth checking out this free demo. If you liked Indigo Prophecy / Fahrenheit, you may enjoy this demo more than I did.

I prefer a light rain to be honest.
